Sunday March 21st, Gifu Trip.

Higashi Shirakawa, Gifu Prefecture.

There is a small group of us, maybe six or seven people, heading into Gifu for a ride this month. We’ll be heading out from Seto at around 9:30am and heading to Higashi Shirakawa village in Gifu Prefecture. The village is one of Japan’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites and, as you can see from the picture, is beautiful. The roads there and back should be great at this time of year and the weather hopefully will be dry and clear. If you fancy coming along for the ride, post below or send me an email. Watch this space for a full ride report with pictures!

UPDATE: The boys over at the Gaijin Riders forum are talking about riding down from Tokyo to meet us there. Check out their arrangements here.

2ND UPDATE: There are reports that Shirakawa village is under heavy snow, so there is a possibility that the destination will change. If it does, it’ll still be somewhere into Gifu and it’ll still be a good ride.
